Artifact 1: I chose to make trading cards for the Olympics because I know that those are things that people might actually want. I also knew that by creating trading cards, I would learn more about individual Olympians. I then decided to make both Ancient and Modern Olympic trading cards, as my website is about both the ancient and modern Olympic Games. Two of my cards are also the two Olympians I talked about in my essay, which is why I included them, and I then picked other popular Olympians. This way I learedn about multiple athletes, and what made them great.
Artifact 2: Pictures often explain things that words never could. Therefore I thought that a collage would help solidify my ideas. However I did not want to do just any collage, so I remembered a mosaic collage that I had seen, and then looked up how to make one. I chose a simple picture for the main picture, and filled it will small pictures that cover every modern-day Olympics that have taken place. I did this because I knew it would be fascinating to see pictures from each Olympic Games, and watch how they evolved.
Artifact 3: I wanted to learn more than just the facts I needed for my essay. When I saw the idea of doing trivia, I knew that this was the perfect idea. I had fun picking out fun, lesser known facts about the Olympic Games. I decided to limit my questions to 10, which was pretty hard as I kept finding more, however anyone who does the trivia will some away with more knowedge about the Olympic Games than they had before.
Artifact 4: Spanish class is the first place I came across a Wordle, and I loved the idea. It is cool to see what words are used a lot, and they usually line up with the words that are important. I pasted my essay into the website and watched it change the size of the most used words. Conveniently the two largest words were Olympic and Games. From there I saw a variety of words that described these games. I then messed with the color and shape until I found what I was looking for. I chose a skate for the shape because ice skating is a very popular sport in the Winter Olympic Games.
